King Charles Health Update Issued by Queen Camilla

King Charles III is “doing very well” more than six weeks into his treatment for cancer, Queen Camilla told well-wishers during a visit to Norther Ireland.Charles had a planned procedure on an enlarged prostate in January and surgeons picked up a separate issue which was diagnosed as cancer. He began regular treatment on February 5 in London and canceled many royal engagements, though he has continued with some duties.Camilla gave the update after she was given a “get well soon card” by Brenda Robb, a shop assistant at The Arcadia deli, in Northern Island.”He’s doing very well,” she said. At the suggestion that men are not always “the best patients,” she added: “I try to keep him in order.”Camilla was on the second day of a solo visit to Northern Ireland and said her husband wanted to be with her in South Belfast: “He’s very disappointed he can’t come.”Back in London, the king met the new High Commissioner for the United Republic of Tanzania, Mbelwa Kairuki, and for the Republic of Singapore, Ng Teck Hean.Charles and Camilla have largely continued as normal while a major international social media storm engulfed Kate Middleton and Prince William. It all began with Twitter users suggesting it was unusual the Princess of Wales had not released a photograph for weeks following her abdominal surgery in January. That snowballed into a viral trend for suggesting Kate was “missing” which placed a huge spotlight on any new imagery of the princess. She then released a picture on March 10, for the UK’s Mother’s Day, but within hours internet sleuths identified tell tale signs it had been doctored. There were even suggestions she may have switched out her face for a pre-surgery image based on a line below her head where the focus suddenly went from sharp to soft.Gossip then went into overdrive, leading to Kensington Palace losing all control of the narrative to the point that affair gossip, largely ignored by major news outlets for five years, burst into the mainstream.Stephen Colbert gave a detailed account on the Late Show of rumors previously described as false by the palace.Jack Royston is Newsweek’s chief royal correspondent based in London. Dem earmarks fund groups handing out transgender devices to youth, $1.8M for late-term abortion clinic

Several new Democrat earmarks in this year’s congressional budget request are raising eyebrows among conservative groups. The 1,000 page budget — released around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday — includes earmarks that would go toward controversial LGBTQ+ facilities and a late-term abortion clinic. Another request includes a multimillion-dollar proposal for what critics dub “gun confiscation” research. Former Vice President Mike Pence’s nonprofit organization, Americans Advancing Freedom, told Fox News Digital in a statement Thursday that “Congress can’t pass this legislation in its current form until these egregious earmarks are weeded out.” CONSERVATIVES FURIOUS AT JOHNSON FOR WAIVING GOP’S 72-HOUR RULE ON $1.2T GOVERNMENT FUNDING BILL “Releasing bill text in the middle of the night is how our government gets locked into funding gaffs and binders for confused kids,” AAF policy director John Shelton said. “American taxpayers are funding centers that encourage children to transition without their parents’ knowledge.” According to appropriations documents, Wisconsin Democrat Sen. Tammy Baldwin requested $400,000 request for a facility called Briarpatch Youth Services. One of the group’s programs is called “Teens Like Us LGBTQIA2s+” for ages 13-18 and a “Gender Affirming Clothing Program” that provides minors with clothing that matches their gender identity. It also organizes a “pride prom” for kids as young as 12, and connects LGBTQ youth without parental knowledge. “Youth do NOT need parent/guardian permission to join Teens Like Us. We understand not all youth are at a point in their lives where they can safely and confidently ‘come out,’” the website says. Another request from New Jersey Democrat Sens. Cory Booker and Bob Menendez would send $400,000 to the state’s largest LGBTQ+ advocacy group, the Garden State Equality Education Fund, Inc. The group provides “binders and gaffs” — two types of undergarments used by transgender people to hide breasts or male genitalia. Rhode Island Democrat Sens. Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Sheldon Whitehouse requested $1.8 million for the Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island. The clinic performs elective abortions up to 22 weeks, both surgical and chemical, according to its website. Another $12.5 million is proposed for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) study called the Prevent Firearm Injury and Mortality research. The NIH said on its website they are “committed to supporting scientific research to develop, evaluate, and implement effective public health interventions to better understand and prevent violence, including firearm violence, and the resulting trauma, injuries, and mortality.” Gun Owners of America, a gun rights lobbying organization, posted to X on Thursday: “Such grants currently fund ‘research’ on gun confiscation, a ‘firearm retirement’ age for seniors & more!” HOUSE LEADERS SMACK DOWN BIDEN’S $7.3 TRILLION SPENDING PLAN AIMED AT ‘PUSHING A LEFT-WING AGENDA’ The House is expected to vote on the appropriations package later this week before some government funding runs out Friday night. Four continuing resolutions were passed following the initial September 30 deadline for appropriations bills. COLORADO COULD BECOME THE FIRST STATE TO BUILD SEPARATE PRISON UNITS FOR TRANSGENDER FELONS While Congress has yet to fully fund the government for FY 2024, President Joe Biden released a $7.3 trillion 2025 budget proposal last week. The U.S. national debt is currently just under $34.5 trillion, and the federal budget deficit is $531 billion, according to the latest data. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP.

Boston TV station proves no one cares about the Red Sox

Boston is not exactly raring with excitement about the return of the Red Sox. With about a week to go until MLB Opening Day, the NBC affiliate in Boston did a whole segment about how much nobody cares. The segment was introduced with the anchor saying that “nobody seems to be talking about the Red Sox”, and that reporter Mary Markos was on the scene around Fenway to “find out if anyone cares.” Of the sample respondents, the answer was a resounding no. “Not only are they unaware of Opening Day, many of them can’t even name a current Red Sox player,” Markos said soberly. The first young woman interviewed in the clip couldn’t name anybody, then a young man asked, “Current? [Rafael] Devers. That’s probably it.” Another man said, “Damn, I’m blanking right now!” Samantha Perez, described in the chyron as living by Fenway, said, “Usually other years I kind of hear about it or people are talking about it. But this year, I didn’t even know that they were starting. I had no idea.” Markos noted that bleacher tickets were going on the secondary market for as little as $11, a discount previously unheard of. Local sportscaster John Tomase put the onus on the ownership group led by John Henry, noting that they “haven’t spent money to put a representative team on the field, and that’s how you wind up with this sort of apathy that we’re talking about a week or two ahead of Opening Day.” The Red Sox finished last season at 78-84, last in the AL East, and 23 games behind the first-place Orioles. The team’s biggest free-agent acquisition this offseason, Lucas Giolito, who signed a two-year deal worth about $38 million, might miss the entire season with an elbow injury. The Sox also made a rare trade with their rival Yankees, sending outfielder Alex Verdugo to the Bronx for reliever Greg Weissert and two minor league pitchers, Richard Fitts and Nicholas Judice. Compounding local non-interest for the Red Sox is the silver lining for die-hard sports fans in New England that the Celtics and Bruins are championship contenders.

Renaissance Care residents take comedy masterclass with award-winning comedian Scott Agnew

Uddingston care home residents took comedy workshops with an award-winning funnyman during Glasgow International Comedy Festival. Residents at two of Renaissance Care’s homes in the Lanarkshire town were treated to a hearty dose of laughter as they participated in a unique comedy workshop hosted by renowned Scottish comedian, Scott Agnew. The workshop aimed to provide residents from Rosepark and Croftbank care homes – as well as Whitecraigs Care Home – with a platform to explore their comedic potential, learn new skills, and most importantly, enjoy themselves. The initiative comes as part of a broader wellbeing strategy adopted by the care home group, acknowledging the significant benefits laughter can bring to individuals, particularly the elderly. They say that research has consistently shown that laughter can play a crucial role in reducing stress, improving mood, and even lowering blood pressure. Iain Harris, 91, Whitecraigs Care Home resident said: “Scott was a good laugh –but I think we gave him a run for his money. “My favourite comedian growing up was Billy Connolly. It was great to reminisce about some old jokes and songs that are still hilarious today.” Scott Agnew, a previous Scottish Comedian of the Year winner, expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with the residents, saying: “It’s been brilliant to visit Renaissance Care this morning and brighten up the residents’ days a little with some great jokes, chat and of course, a roll and square sausage. “I was introduced to the world of comedy by my grandad so it was a thrill to spend some time with the residents this morning, and I’m fairly sure a few of the stories and jokes they told me will make their way into my Glasgow International Comedy Festival show this weekend – I think a few of them might be after my job.” Agnew is set to make his 21st appearance at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival on March 24 – the day before National Square Sausage Day – at Drygate, Glasgow with Scott Agnew’s Scottish Square Sausage Show, celebrating the life, times and lore of the iconic Lorne sausage. The workshop was complete with the traditional Scottish staple, a roll and square sausage, kindly donated by the local Bellshill Aldi store. Yvonne Richardson, operations director at Renaissance Care added: “At Renaissance Care, we are committed to providing holistic care that nurtures both the physical and emotional needs of our residents. “For us, it’s all about providing meaningful and person-centred activities that bring value to our residents’ lives. In this case, there are not only physical health benefits for residents, but the event also supports mental wellbeing and continues to keep residents vibrant and included members of their local community. “The comedy workshop with Scott Agnew and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival is an exciting addition to our activities programme that will not only bring smiles to our residents’ faces but also contribute to their overall sense of wellbeing.” *Don’t miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire. Sydney Sweeney comments on conservative politicisation of her appearance

Sydney Sweeney has commented on the political discourse about her body. Following the Euphoria star’s appearance on Saturday Night Live earlier this month, right-wing commentators declared that “Wokeness is dead”, while Canada’s National Post asked: “Are Sydney Sweeney’s breasts double-D harbingers of the death of woke?” The Post writer Amy Hamm argued: “We’ve spent years being chastised for desiring or admiring beauty – because beauty is rare and exclusionary, and to exclude is to hate – or so we’ve been scolded to accept by today’s diversity, equity, and inclusion fanatics. We aren’t supposed to admire Sweeney’s beauty; but we’ve done it anyways. The times, they are a-changin’. Aren’t they?” In a new interview with NME, Sweeney said “there’s not anything I can do” about the obsession with her appearance. Asked if it made her want to stay off the internet, she responded: “Um, no, I think it’s important to be aware of everything and then use that information however I may well. But I’m just being me, that’s all.” Her comments mirror those she made in an interview with Variety published earlier this week. “I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction. I don’t know how to explain it – I’m still trying to figure it out myself,” she told the outlet when asked about the viral reaction to her SNL debut. “People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want, because they believe that I’ve signed my life away. That I’m not on a human level anymore, because I’m an actor. That these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore,” Sweeney said. “It’s this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over.” Earlier this month, the White Lotus star’s appearance on SNL drew criticism from viewers for centering some sketches on her body. In one skit, Sweeney portrayed a Hooters waitress who received a tonne of tips from male customers who found her attractive. Meanwhile, a promotional clip for the episode, which also featured musical guest Kacey Musgraves and SNL cast member Heidi Gardner, had Sweeney poking fun at herself and her fan base. “Weirdly, a lot of my fans are men,” she said, to which Musgraves replied: “Hmm, I wonder why.” Speaking to The Independent in 2022, The White Lotus actor said she believes there’s “a stigma against actresses who get naked on screen”. “When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different,” she said. The two-time Emmy nominee also admitted how it “bothers” her that most of the attention surrounding her performance is focused on her nude scenes. “I’m very proud of my work in Euphoria. I thought it was a great performance. But no one walks about it because I got naked,” she said. “I do The White Lotus and all of a sudden critics are paying attention. People are loving me. They’re going, ‘Oh my God, what’s she doing next?’ I was like, ‘Did you not see that in Euphoria? Did you not see that in The Handmaid’s Tale?’” Sweeney currently stars in the horror film Immaculate, in which she also served as a producer, as devout American nun Cecilia who joins an Italian convent. Immaculate hits theatres in the US on 22 March.
