A police manhunt has been launched for a violent criminal who fled from prison where he was serving a near-eight-year sentence.Frankie Michael O’Leary, 26, left HMP Sudbury at 5.30pm on Friday, January 12 where he was serving his sentence.
The convict had been sentenced to a seven-year, 10-month sentence for grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent in 2021.
After he absconded from the open prison, Derbyshire Police issued an urgent appeal for information about his whereabouts but warned the public ‘do not approach’.
He has links to areas in London, including Tottenham, Haringey, Finsbury Park, North Finchley and Hornsey.
O’Leary also has links to Bedfordshire, Dorset, Hampshire, North Wales, Brighton and Hove, Northampton, Cambridgeshire and Wiltshire.
He has been described as 5ft 10ins tall, with brown hair which is short on the sides and longer on top, and of slight build with blue eyes.
O’Leary was last seen wearing a pair of black Under Armour tracksuit bottoms, a black padded jacket, and a pair of white and grey Nike trainers.
Derbyshire Police has asked the public to contact them with the reference 1190-120124 if they have any information.
