Young darts sensation Luke Littler scored a nine-dart finish in his victory over Michele Turetta at the Players Championship in Wigan. Seventeen-year-old Littler, known as “The Nuke”, has been making waves in the world of darts since his surprise run to the World Championship final earlier this year. He then triumphed over Michael van Gerwen at the Bahrain Masters in January, notably becoming the youngest player to score a televised nine-darter during his quarter-final match against Nathan Aspinall. But, young Littler’s formidable performance continues as he progresses to the fourth round at the year’s first Players Championship event with a comfortable 6-1 win against Turetta, complete with a signature nine-dart finish. In other news, it was a shocking start to the tournament for second seed Luke Humphries. The recent slayer of Littler at the World Championship suffered a swift defeat, crashing out 6-0 to Ian White on the opening day at Robin Park Tennis Centre.
