On Saturday, Trooping the Colours, also known as The King’s Birthday Parade will take place throughout London. The age-old tradition, a gift from the British Army to His Majesty for the monarch’s official birthday is a major fixture in the royal calendar. Despite ongoing concerns about her health, there is growing talk among royal circles that the Princess Of Wales might be considering a request from King Charles III to attend. While her absence from last Saturday’s Trooping the Colour parade rehearsal was confirmed before the event, palace officials have neither confirmed nor denied her potential balcony appearance on June 15. Rhea Freeman, a renowned UK PR expert, told GB News, an appearance would be a huge win for the Palace. “If Kate were to appear on the balcony it would definitely dominate the news,” she told the outlet. “But from everything I’ve read and seen, I would imagine that the King would be delighted to have her there. “It would reinforce the strength of the monarchy moving forward, something that has been questioned by some with both the King and Kate’s recent health concerns.” The Princess of Wales had written a letter to the Irish Guards to apologise for not being able to take part in rehearsals and wished them luck. However, the monarch did not mention the official parade. Kate, who is colonel of the regiment, spoke of her pride in them and added that her position “remains an honour”. “I wanted to write to you to let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour,” the letter said. “I appreciate everyone trooping the colour this year has been practising for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate. “Being your colonel remains an honour, and I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review.” The Colonel’s Review is held seven days ahead of the Trooping the Colour parade which has marked the sovereign’s birthday for more than 260 years.
